Girl my mom's a first grade teacher and has been for 20 years. She says there's always that doubt but then you have that one good day a week where you actually feel like your making a difference and then it's all worth it

hi i graduated last year with an education degree (high school english) & i am not a teacher anymore already lol. i realized that the work + system just wasn’t healthy for me. it was rough at first but i thought really hard about WHY i wanted to be a teacher, and i realized it was because i want to make good change in the world and help kids. so im in a different job now (basically counselor for at risk kids) but still feel like my prior experience in education has been fundamental to this job

Just remember it won't always look the same as what you're doing now! Also think if you'd want to switch to a different grade level or district it will often change what your workload will look like.
