no it’s not!!! i’m OBSESSED with her and the mission. she recently said in an interview that she didn’t initially like this photo and kept getting annoyed bc her braid was floating around getting in the way of the picture. it was the very thing that made millions of women (and young girls!!) see a small piece of ourselves up there with her and it’s so telling that the feeling of “being in the way” was her initial reaction.

like girl it was never a nuisance, it was so beautiful and a poetic reminder of our connection to each other as women, in every culture throughout history. even trailblazers like her feel the same society-instilled annoyance with our own feminity. it’s not hate at all, i admire her so much bc she’s incredibly real and human
