Well I have PCOS so unfortunately I don’t even have a choice ☹️ (not that it’s a good idea to have kids rn, but still)

I saw my geneticist (I have an inheritable genetic condition that could be passed on and effect my health due to increased hormones IF I ever got pregnant) to discuss any form of permanent sterilization and I expected pushback because I’m so young but he’s actually looking further into it for me 🥳

any gov that pressures women to bare the brunt of having children to “sustain the population” is a fucking awful government. it is not entitled to have a say in the choices of private fucking citizens and how they make the most personal decisions of their lives. if a country can collapse because women don’t want to endlessly have kids, fix the fucking system enough said & fuck right off xoxo

i could actually go on about how fucking dehumanizing and insulting this fixation on the birth rate is when our country is 1) not supporting children or those who raise them and 2) actively protecting predators and targeting children for exploitation. it’s actually fucking infuriating and disgusting to hear especially from smooth brained men my age who’ve never had to actually think about the costs and consequences of having children today because they expect it to be akin to having a dog

i’m deadass deeply considering getting a hysterectomy as i have no desire to continue having periods or any future plans for my own children (my genes are shit objectively and i don’t want to pass down inherited physical and mental health issues, ethical concerns bringing in life when i myself have wrestled with being born, much prefer the adoption route generally and would not want to parent selfishly for my own sake, etc) here’s hoping it will still be legal.. 🫩

please look into tubal ligation instead (quicker recovery, safer, and cheaper)! a hysterectomy is a major invasive procedure with many possible side effects that takes much longer to recover from. ik having a uterus and periods sucks but it is supporting your other organs

i feel like the only reason we have this debate is that capitalism has truly rotted brains and made people just not understand exponential growth isn’t a great thing for continuing to live as a society

allowing abortions actually leads to better healthcare for all pregnancies instead of leaving people to go septic before getting treatment. these laws affect everyone, even people who have wanted pregnancies, and abortions save lives. abortion is healthcare

no one can convince me that the entire pro life movement isn’t just hell bent on control of women’s bodies more than any concern for the “life” because look at all the doctors supporting it.. oh wait! it’s actually mostly religious people with no idea how pregnancy actually works (eg when a fetus can actually live outside of the womb and complications that require abortion) and assume that life for the sake of life is the hill to die on instead of the quality of that life.

abortions are so medically necessary there should be no reason for any stupid arbitrary number of weeks to ban or limit it if your physician is telling you that it would be best for your health. look at all the red tape that has led to people dying preventable deaths because they weren’t able to get care they needed since all the Jesus freaks insist on controlling everyone under their belief system.
