or anyone else, what’s everyone’s opinions on the depo shot? I have endometriosis, so I don’t know if that’s relevant. But I’m tired of being on the pill, and I think every option is gonna make me somewhat sick, but I feel like if I just have to get a shot shot in my arm every every three months I would rather do that, rather than taking a pill every fucking day.

Tbh if you don’t want to feel it go for an iud. It is so horrible when they put it in but after that you don’t know it’s there

oh so i’m pretty sure you can only take depo for a certain amount of time before it starts to cause bone density loss and other spine issues

okay this is an unpopular opinion, but i love the depo shot. i spoke extensively with my doctor about the risks associated and have now been on it for years. my bone scans are normal, my mood as actually improved compared to other forms i’ve tried, and it helped balance my hormones out so well because i also have a thyroid condition that was interacting weird with other types of

I was just gonna try the depot shot for a little bit until I explore other options but the implant scares me because I don’t wanna accidentally feel my implant every so often 👁️👁️

i will say she gave me really good advice about the ring. i got scared and went back to taking the pill for my own sanity but maybe you could look into that instead cause that’s just once a month

It’s the right option for some people, but I’d exhaust a few more options before depo tbh. It’s linked to bone mineral density loss (increased fractures and osteoporosis) as well as benign brain tumors. Have you considered a ring or Nexplanon? Which pill are you currently using? Why do you think every option will make you sick? Sick how? Sorry that’s a long questions but it will help narrow the options lol

i could be mistaken because i don’t have endometriosis, but i think it does help manage it! also if you’re worried about negative side effects (which will obviously be different from person to person), i had 0. i didn’t gain weight, my depression didn’t get worse, sex drive was the same, etc

the only problem i have with the nexplanon is that i have sensory issues and i can feel my friend’s implant in her arm sometimes and thats enough to make me 🤢 im currently on Altavera, and its basically like horrible morning sickness everyday & headaches , im really tired all the time which might be something else but i feel like it got worse while on bc

I will say that yes it is freaky feeling it, but it’s placed in the back of ur arm (which I thought it was on the inside of your arm but apparently not) so unless ur just like really reaching for it you probably won’t graze it

Well damn that’s why you’re sick! That’s a pill with 30 mcg of estrogen. In any case, try moving to a lower or variable estrogen dose. Nuvaring releases 20mcg and it doesn’t have to pass thru your digestive system. Would that be an option? Ideally, with endo, you’d be on a method with no estrogen, so Nexplanon really is a prime option. If it helps, I’ve never heard of someone getting Nexplanon removed because the physical presence triggered sensory issues. It really might be worth a try!

Maybe for a couple months, but a year??? Honey that’s just not the right dose for you at all! If your doc doesn’t listen, highly recommend switching providers!!

i’ve been on the depo shot for about a year and i like it. i haven’t had cramps for a year and my flow is a lot less heavy which is a plus. because I don’t have enough meat on my arms I usually get it like right above my glute muscle or you can also get it done in your thighs too
