How do u guys budget ur break down ur paychecks- I’m lowk spending as much as I get in (yes I had a big event this month) but I wanna save for the big 21 and fun concerts n stuff

I know how much I need monthly for rent, utilities, and other bills, and make sure I always have that much available. Then I budget $400 for food and fun money. Everything else goes into savings. Saving goal #1 is living expenses through the end of my lease Goal #2 is a vacation Goal #3 is enough to take 4 months off to study for the LSAT

ideally you should be spending up to 50% on fixed expenses, like rent and groceries etc. 30% goes to everything else, and 20% to savings. that’s the basic budgeting rule i use and i’ve been able to build a decent savings

google sheets has a good basic monthly budget sheet you can use to track your spending in a month. i use it occasionally to see how my spending goes. from there you can make decisions about where to spend your money

Oooooo okay should I still be putting bills/stuff aside if I don’t have those? Those be set aside for like Uber and stuff like that?
