So! It’s come to my attention that both men and women don’t know a lot about the female body. If you have any questions please ask!

I’ve been a woman for 20 (almost 21) years, I’ve done a lot of research on how women are overlooked in a lot of fields, I’ve learned about things in pregnancy that they don’t teach you and I’ve taken a class about women

what have u learned about pregnancy?

So many things. Between how it affects the brain, to the statistics of who’s most likely to die in pregnancy, to how C-sections work. And pretty much everything in between

arent black women more likely to die in pregnancy? 🤔

it truly is, people can’t even have trust that they’ll get basic care bc of their skin or where they’re from. it’s sickening, and to treat a baby like that who can’t even speak up for themselves is so fucking odd

Uhhh there’s a new study showing that during pregnancy and after there’s a lot less gray and white matter in the brain. Which could possibly be the cause of “pregnancy brain” as we call it. However the changes do get reversed about 2 or so years after birth.

People really don’t realize how close things are. Women couldn’t really open their own credit cards until 1970’s

well since this is anonymous ig i can’t declare it without fear but im 3 days late and might be pregnant (we’ve been trying it’s not like an accident) but i started spiraling about postpartum a bit so if you have any knowledge on that that can actually calm my nerves it would be greatly appreciated however ik it’s different for everyone but im really excited (im not testing til my fiancé is back from his work hitch)

Oh my gosh absolutely, I would be so happy to! Obviously my first bit of information is not to drink anything, even if you aren’t pregnant don’t drink while trying because it can actually make things harder! Second what exactly are you worried about? The body changes, the brain changes?

oh absolutely i cut drinking out abt 3 mo ago but im more worried abt the brain changes cause i have diagnosed GAD with depression caused by it and im just worried abt ig idek lol ig the way my brain handles the insane drop of progesterone cause I’ve heard it plummets more than anything else after giving birth

also i’ve done my research on things to avoid like food wise when pregnant and I know the basics like sushi and unpasteurized dairy but i also know there’s random shit that just isn’t talked about but needs to be avoided so if u know any odd ones or uncommon ones that would also be so helpful cause i always get the same answer when i do my research but I swear I’m always hearing people talk about certain things they didn’t know they weren’t allowed to do

Obviously I can’t tell the future. But I do want you to know that if you are pregnant your doctors will do everything possible to keep you as happy and healthy as possible. Second of all a lot of it is comparison. Some women don’t get postpartum depression at all. And some get it while pregnant (pre-partum is the current term). But what’s important is you keep moving.

Drinking water, eating whatever sounds good etc. Also give yourself grace. Giving birth is the most traumatic experience your body can experience. Also pregnancy brain is a real thing (with science to back it up) so just allow yourself time.

Yes okay! So when it comes to diet no uncooked fish because of the possibly of mercury poisoning. Drinking coffee can increase your risk of a miscarriage so I would try and keep off the stuff as much as you can. Teas and chocolate seem safe so yay! Oh! Warning. You can develop allergies while pregnant. Because your body is going through so much it can have reactions to things it never did before. Make sure you drink enough. My mother didn’t drink enough with me and she had to be put on bed rest

Absolutely! And if it makes you feel double better my mom also has/ had GAD when pregnant with my siblings. She assured me that the doctors kept that in mind when treating her. And it clearly can’t have been all that bad since she had three of us! If you have any questions you can ask here or DM me. I hope you get your baby!

no worries at all my mom never really taught me anything about women’s health and i kinda had to just learn on my own so really anything helps i wish more women talked about this stuff more often because what feels like it should be common knowledge just sadly isn’t (my og comment really shows that too lol)
