As a straight woman some people are just soooo so weird about body hair. You’re not disgusting and hair is obviously natural idk why people lose their minds about it. Tbh a lot of straight women I know don’t shave either. It’s usually just the loud mean ones that shout over the others bc they don’t like when others don’t fit into their worldview
Like straight ladies on here, is there anything i can do to mitigate this without changing my presentation? Im nice but not too nice (as to not come off flirting when im not), i try not to look at straight women too long, ive stopped complimenting them, i barely even use the womens bathroom anymore cuz it makes women uncomfortable.
Idk why my comment was downvoted (not saying it was you). I live in an extremely queer friendly city. Like i belong to 3 different lesbian wrestling groups. We have sapphic art markets sponsored by the city. Theres a pride flag in every block. Its like at least as gay as seattle if not more
It literally isnt. There are so many sources from womens health resources saying how bush protects the vulva and vagina from pathogens. I get way smellier if all the sweat has nowhere to be evaporated too. Not to mention i get zero ingrowns or irritation there anymore. What works for you works for you but youre perpetuating misinfo as a way to shame women for not conforming to male beauty standards
No way you can smell other peoples bushes out and about unless theyre really not clean. And again im not unkempt. I wash and moisturize and use deodorant and all that. No gay women ive ever met have ever had a problem with it either, most in fact rlly like it. I am personally very proud of my body hair and it makes me feel hot. Why enforce your beauty standards on others who dont even have overlapping attraction to you?
I know why i get looks, its misogyny. Its okay that you personally have a preference for your type but youre turning your bias onto others to justify your shitty opinions. It implies a denial of body autonomy for respectability politics and that gender nonconformity is deserving of scorn. Just cuz youre bi or apply that on men too doesnt mean its not rooted in misogyny.
Dawg thats why i said imply. The misogyny aspect is an implicit belief embedded in the broader sentiment. When you use words like "should" and "unkempt" and "hygiene" and "overgrown" you make the implication that theres smth inherently wrong about body hair despite it being natural. Where do those beliefs come from in our society?
Youre misunderstanding what i mean i think. In no way am i saying that hygiene doesnt apply to men and women. Im saying there is bias to associating hygiene to body hair and that youre also applying that bias to men. And for the taking care of oneself thing, my luscious body hair is representative of how i take care of myself. Youre being very narrow minded about what self care means
Be so fr are you trolling? You are holding a bias favoring hegemonic beauty standards which are rooted in misogyny and assuming that this is the way ppl "should" be. Applying that to all genders does not change that fact, you can apply misogyny to men as well, thats how patriarchy works.
Im rlly not that pressed over it, remember when i said implicit? I dont think youre discriminating against me im just saying your bias sucks and youre applying your personal opinion to how other people should act. I dont want it to be thin, i get a lot of gender euphoria from my bush and happy trail and leg hair and whatnot, thats why im on testosterone. Being on t is my way of grooming it, but for me that means enhancing it.
