This is by no means an ad, but I really cut down on my screen time by downloading one of those apps that literally block the apps on your phone. Like Forest or Opal. My Screen Time was probably around 7 or 8 hours and now it’s like 2

I read books, study things I’m interested in, or call friends. Sometimes I’ll just go places. Like parks or lakes or rivers near me to walk trails. Other times I work out. I’ve started watching a lot of movies. I ask myself “would you rather scroll for 2 hours or go see a movie”. Things like that. It has helped.

I had the same issue and what I did (using the Opal app on iPhone) was once I set up the block, I blocked Opal itself and then removed the app from my home screen. That way, the only way I could turn off the block before the time was up was to go to the App Store, search the app, open it, wait the time it makes you wait to end a block, and then confirm I wanted to end early. Most times the effort just isn’t worth it and I end up putting my phone down to do something else.
