This unironically is why I got my first cat and it actually really helped me get through bad depressive episodes when I didn’t even want to get out of bed

awww!! i also have depression and some days battle with the remains of my anxiety. i’m really thinking of getting a cat or smaller animal to live in my dorm with me

I would unfortunately wait until you have a little more room to get a cat, like in an apartment, just because it would be unfair for the cat. But if your college allows it you could totally get a small caged animal like a guinea pig or something!

snakes eat once every 2 weeks, don't leave their enclosure most of the time, and can have all their enclosure environment monitored thru apps

i’d have to be real careful with bugs because of student housing but it’s def in my top 3! i’ve been looking into ferrets and everything. i really don’t know!
