24! He’s 26. Tbf we were going to wait a couple years for a “real” wedding, but I have really good insurance through work and the ACA credit expiration really screwed him over, so we’re expediting the process a little

Thank you!! Unfortunately we are just eloping right now, but we have been slowly wedding planning and I was just a MoH in a friend’s wedding, so I have some tips still. The most important thing I’ve learned so far is to find a venue that doesn’t have any required vendors (or very minimal). One spot we’re looking at only requires the table/chair vendor, the rest is free rein. The required vendors are how they upcharge you

Thank you! The places we are looking at both provide chairs and tables and don’t have any required vendors although one requires a licensed bartender so that’s so nice. Weddings are so expensive I hope you have the best time eloping and have an amazing wedding when you do one🫶🏻

They seriously are :,)) that’s a big part of why we’re waiting. We’re also planning to spend more money on the reception than the ceremony, which is why we’re kind of considering getting a huge VRBO for our friends and family to hang out with us at, and to do a small ceremony in the yard or something. Good luck with planning, don’t stress yourself out too much!

Yeah not how we envisioned it and it was a sudden decision, but we’ve been talking about how excited we are for the last month since we decided to expedite the process. We have two of our closest friends as witnesses and it’s a secret to everyone else that we’re going to reveal after our “real” wedding! Plus we took off a week from work to enjoy time together. We’re making the best of a not-so-ideal situation
