i'd normally not be celebrating catching a thief at work cuz i can empathize with poverty as somebody who's been homeless but if sb wanna get hostile, belligerent and semi-physical i'll relish getting paid a portion of what they tried to take 🤭

Some companies have an “honesty pays” system where if you catch another employee stealing money/merchandise and report them, you can be paid

we get a portion of the price of recovered items as an incentive. funny thing is this is my first cuz i don't try to "catch" thieves. if i notice an item not being paid for i give them a chance to pay or send it back to the shelves and always assume (even if it seems super obvious) it was an honest mistake. shit i even tried that with this one. but turns out she was already trespassed 🤪
