Scam calls are so weird. You go through the effort of leaving a phone # in a voicemail that’s the correct area code, even give the explanation that it’s your “mobile” because it doesn’t match the business, yet call me from a # 5 states away

Like I looked it all up. The company is real, the guy the scammer claimed to be is real, but you called me (and immediately hung up to leave a voicemail) past normal business hours from a number in Illinois.

If it’s a real business and everything, my best guess is he’s a remote worker or uses a number disguising software to avoid anyone tracking him down if he pisses someone off unintentionally

It was a capital advisory firm and he wanted me to call him so he could get my email and send me something. Also if he disguised his number to avoid being tracked down why give me a local “mobile” number to call in the voicemail?

Ohhh I totally missed that last part about it being local to you. Yeah that’s annoying as hell, I keep getting those. Also calls from a “personal loan” company as if I’d ever take out a personal loan 💀
