Officially maxed my credit card (on accident) on food & going to the bar. So. I officially cannot spend money on food or drink til next week and at that. I’m going to try and make it a full month so I can 100% pay off my card & keep my future paychecks.

Context: I have a credit card, every paycheck I get paid the perfect amount to pay it off in full then just use it for the next two weeks, pay it off, repeat. Never accrued interest in doing this. This past weekend I got too drunk & spent too much money. So. I literally have no money til I get paid next week. That’ll be this & next week of no spending money. After that, I’ll use my check to pay off my card & won’t use my card til the NEXT paycheck.

This getting upvoted makes me feel good and gives me more motivation to stick with it. I just need to do better with my finances, it’s just hard as a commuter student, barely home and barely any food at home to pack to bring to campus/work. But it’ll be okay for sure and I can make it work. I have good support in my family who would help me buy food if I absolutely need to

This way, I won’t spend any excess on my credit card after I pay it off next week. And come my paycheck after next, I’ll have money on my debit and further limit myself going forward. I’ve been meaning to do this, but I guess I had to learn my lesson the hard way. Today marks day 1/31 of not spending money.

*the only money that will be spent will be on actual bills that get taken automatically*

No 300 🫩, I work part time hence never getting an increase, I never wanted to be able to spend more than what I make in one paycheck. So one paycheck can pay off my full balance and I’m paid twice a month (biweekly)

So this coming paycheck (next friday) I’ll use my full paycheck to pay off my card. So I’ll have $300 on my credit card for 2 weeks after that, but then the NEXT paycheck, I’ll get another $300 ish, and then so long as I don’t spend any money for the next 4 weeks, I’ll have $300 in my account and $300 on my credit if that makes sense
