I’m considering starting on a glp 1 and all my friends are acting like I’m killing myself. Is it that crazy of a thing? Am I fat phobic?

i’d say do it in secret unfortunately. eat healthy, a little exercise if you can, and take your meds without them knowing.

If you have medical conditions that are preventing/making it extremely difficult to lose weight then don’t listen to them. If you are healthy other than the extra weight then it’s not worth the risks.

there’s nothing wrong with using a glp1. what meds you take are no one else’s business and you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. meds exist for a reason!!!

How much do you weigh?? What have you tried to lose weight previously?? Are you fully educated on glp 1s??

For something like this u need to talk to your dr. I talked to mine about it because I want to lose about 70 pounds but the only thing stopping me is not committing to it and my dr did not recommend it. If you have a health condition that prevents you from losing weight then your doctor will take it into account but most of the time for 30 pounds diet and exercise will be your safest choice. Glp-1s need to only be used for weight loss when it’s above like 100 pounds.

No the world is just getting fatter and there’s more of them to make excuses as to why everyone but them is wrong.

I’m at my biggest at 185 at 5’7. And I joint mobility issues that make high impact excercise difficult. I’m not morbidly obese but I also want to drop 30 pounds

I’m very neutral about what other ppl do with their bodies. Like you want to loose weight great if not also great. I just don’t understand why when I want to choose to be smaller it’s a big fucking deal

I don’t rlly see any risk? Like the biggest issue is muscle loss but that’s bc ppl don’t eat enough protein or really move

I think that’s the plan. I just don’t understand why they act like im dying. I hate that I won’t be able to talk about this stuff with my bestie

Pancreatitis, kidney problems, gallbladder issues, gastroparesis, thyroid cancer (especially if there’s a family history), blindness and hair loss…

I wouldn’t if I were you gf. I’m in nursing school and just did a rotation on a GI floor and I hateeeed seeing gastroparesis. Which it probably will give you.

I don’t know your friends but they might not have an issue with you wanting to lose weight, they may just have issue with meds

If any of the issues plus a lifetime commitment to being on this medication is worth the 30 pounds you are trying to lose go ahead but you should at the very least be aware of it. There are tons of low impact exercises on YouTube you can find as well.
