It’s legit propaganda from razor companies. Back in the 60’s dudes weren’t buying enough razors, so to boost their sales they started saying body hair on women was unsightly and gave birth to a “problem” that shouldn’t have existed to begin with

More like the ‘20s-30s also it correlated with women showing more of their bodies in public as beauty standards shifted so there wasn’t representation of women with unshaven bodies in mainstream media beforehand anyway so society normalized shaved bodies pretty early
