Not saying he's not attractive! But I do think the extent to which the audience fixates on him does indicate a lack of engagement with the message of the show.

as a certified steve harrington stan i fear this is very true for some people. because everyone loves stranger things but the people who weren’t weird/outcasts as kids and teenagers would probably be weirded out by the other characters irl (i see it a lot with jonathan especially) so they latch on to steve. he’s a great character but too many people like him for the wrong reasons imo

I love Stranger Things and Steve's arc (& his dynamics with Dustin, Robin, etc.) !! I can love Steve and also acknowledge that his extreme popularity among the fanbase can't be separated from the fact the he is supposed to be the "normal" one among the group.
