Also winter break is Dec 23 - Jan 1, and spring is March 15-19

Some pros and cons: - Fall is decent price for flights, but the shortest break. And will probably be the nicest driving weather - Winter is the longest, but most expensive flights and weather is unpredictable. - Spring is the cheapest price for flights (domestic and internationally), and a good length of time. But weather is also unpredictable.
