You could always be like hey I just want to make sure we are still on the same page. We haven’t made anything label-specific and I like that we are just casual. I think it would be awesome to go to this event with you, but I want to make sure that this isn’t being interpreted as something different from what I interpret it as. Just let him know straight up you like or vibe with him but you aren’t looking to date and you don’t want to lead him on.

so I don’t think you have anything to worry about. even if he thinks inviting you there is moving the needle in that direction I don’t think it’s making or breaking anything
