people tell me i’m crazy for behaving this way but im the only one out of all my friends and family members that haven’t been assaulted as an adult. so i will continue not trusting them and keeping myself safe

what state do u guys live in bc i live somewhere with very low cultural gender essentialism and this pov is very alien to me. like all my friend groups are totally co-ed and everyone is very normal abt it. like we all just kinda treat each other like ppl and gender doesnt matter much at all

It was a genuine question, I just see this sentiment a lot and I’m trying to understand where it comes from and what life experiences so that i can have a more whole understanding of the world.
