my parents tried to do this with my dog growing up but he wormed his way into the bed and now he sleeps with my mom every night

Sorry that I don’t enjoy vacuuming a sofa three times a day and clogging my washing machine with pet hair. It’s not for everyone and that’s okay. You do you in your own home. I have frequent guests and it’s not fair to them to be rolling in husky hair because I let my dogs on the sofa.
