It’s too late now because i graduated a year and a half ago, but it would be so nice to be in a field that is needed because I’m having such a hard time finding a job

At least where I’m at, and I went for psych and social studies to teach 7-12. Not a single opening. All I can do is para work. Unless you go for SPED, math, or science… NOTHING is available. And graduation doesn’t matter, only made it easier in college to obtain the licensure. It’s just a program you can take mainly anywhere even after grad. Beware, you will have to do an EdTPA and student teaching. No working during bc ST is unpaid labor for full days and weeks. No time w course work after ST

!!!! NEVER work private. They don’t follow baseline pay across the nation ranging at minimum $34k ish. They also raise pay based on how many years you’ve taught. Once you leave a private school to go public or even a new private school, highly likely you will receive base pay again and start all over. Although there is more technically “freedom” in curriculum and management depends where tho

Teaching is a pink collared privileged career. You full on need someone or something to support you financially through the process and that’s partly why alot of teachers have more well off partners or parents. Like nurses- a ring before spring
