
And that’s not to say Eldest Daughter doesn’t mention the need to be perfect, it does I just expected more from her. I’ll give her credit where credit is due, it truly is impressive to build a career and have such devoted fans and again it’s impressive to build a career where you and your music are being “pushed down everyone’s throats” that being said I really wasn’t a fan of her or a lot of her music, not that I hated her, but I did have to work her concert movie and people were extremely rude
During that time, and I’ll admit I hold some animosity towards that. Was not a good time. And this album felt so disingenuous, it feels like she has perfected a formula to a pop song and a lot of her music just feels more commercial. Not to mention she tries to come off as being this genius in literature and not saying she’s not smart, she’s a genius (hence the popularity), but her lyrics are extremely simple to comprehend (at least for me), none of her songs really stood out in terms of
“Ooh she ate with that line” or “ooh that imagery” it sounds like an album that she would put out pre Covid and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but she has put out albums such as Folklore, Evermore, and even Midnights, this album feels like a setback. this is a pretty solid album for background music and I tried to give my unbiased opinion
