I hade half a group do nothing. I submitted actual proof to the professor that 50 percent of my group wasn’t even opening the assignment and me and two other people were the ones doing it…. She gave them the same grade anyway 🫩

Even IF they end up competently completing their portions of the assignment (highly doubtful), you should give them lower scores to account for the emotional stressors placed on you by their extreme procrastination

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE procrastinator. I’ve been known to start working on an assignment the day it’s due. But that’s exclusively for individual projects. I will NEVER subject someone else to my personal time management issues, and I cannot stand when I have teammates who do that

I’ve ended up writing the entire paper because they hadn’t started anything when the project was due in two days, and they got mad at me for “being controlling” when they were “going to get to it”. Yes I was the only woman in the group project, yes it was for engineering

luckily the peer review is very thorough and leaves space for other comments so I’m definitely gonna leave my professor a long note! I’ve talked to her about it after the milestone 3 disaster I mentioned in the email and she’s gonna take it into account when doing final grades. I don’t mind the day-of work, it’s just all the lead up to it like having to explain them assignment, having to answer this one girls 20 questions bc she’s clueless, having to assign the guys parts otherwise they won’t

pick something to do, etc that’s driving me INSANE about this group. Like did they technically do their work? yes a majority of the time, but they also treated me like their teacher and bothered me constantly because they can’t form their own thoughts
