and it’s good that you recognize it!! one of my biggest pet peeves ever is women who get pregnant on purpose and then get “gender disappointment” like why are you risking a 50% chance of not wanting your kid????

i don’t want kids in general for many reasons like my own mental health and just not wanting to go thru pregnancy or birth but not being able to control what i have is a big reason too

you can only control so much, but by addressing stuff early & reacting well to them repeating stuff at a young age, you can do a lot. personally I wouldn’t want a daughter because I know I couldn’t protect her properly given the world we live in.

tbf, the fear OP has is also the fear of not being able to guard a son from falling into misogyny, so regardless it’s a fear of not being able to protect. having a kid in today’s social climate sounds like an awful idea
