before i went no contact (with my family) we went to every family event on both sides. It took a lot of scheduling, and sometimes we would have to swap years so like join main family events but then skip extended family and go the following year

You should negotiate before the marriage, in my family I’m with the dad on Christmas Day and mom on Christmas Eve, etc, if not it’ll probably cause problems
