I’m definitely not a cheating apologist and that post is probably trolling but why does this community treat cheating as equivalent to like murder, there are worst things you can do in a relationship

Going to law school and learning about the way murders get downgraded to manslaughter especially especially especially because the man found out their wife was cheating and murdered them in “the heat of passion” changed my neurochemistry. Cheating is bad, but there’s for sure worse things.

The main issue is that they are always like “it wasn’t cheating! I just slipped up!” No bitch you cheated and if you can’t handle our feedback don’t post it in here

Yeah the denial is crazy. But even when ppl admit it’s wrong they act like they are the worst person on earth when abusers and rapists exist 😭

Oh I for sure don’t think cheating is on the same level as abuse or SA but I do think if you have that big of a character flaw that you can’t even see you messed up and hurt someone, it’s a very big red flag ya know?

i don’t disagree but i also keep in mind that cheating can genuinely endanger ur partner if u get an STI and spread it to them, that in combination with the breaking of the other persons trust in u makes me personally view it as kind of abusive if that makes sense.

yeah i understand that, but that’s not every cheating situation yk? it’s definitely toxic but i don’t think it’s inherently abusive. people tend to treat every case of cheating like the absolute worst one when most of the time it’s someone just being kinda shitty
