Yup. Was at my partners moms house and found out that her mom and her moms best friend (?!) are planning everything and didn’t even think to include me and when I offered suggestions and support I was ignored. I’m also almost positive that her mother isn’t planning to invite my family and my partner has stated that she wants them there bc my family treats her like one of our own

That’s so not fair that they’re excluding you like that. Can you think of any reason why they would do something like that?

I literally have no clue. Her family has been like this recently. Like I’m not invited to her first cousins wedding but I was signed up to watch said cousins dogs without being asked. AND! We rent a house her aunt and uncle own and since living here my car has been broken into twice and every time we call to tell them bc crime is happening on their property time and time again and they said it’s not their problem and I just need to sell my car

Is it possible that they don’t approve of your engagement? I would hate for that to be the case, but this sounds like something my friend went through, and that was the reason why.

See I really don’t know bc sometimes when I’m not at things they are like well where is she? But it’s like they don’t even consider me most of the time. Idk I want the day to be perfect for my partner but I’m really struggling with how I’m being treated

Literally! And! I was told that well I might get to be invited to the wedding but I would be WORKING IT! Like once again no one asked me and just signed me up for it. Oh! And on the dog sitting thing I would be dog sitting 2 separate dogs AT TWO SEPARATE HOUSES

Is there any particular reason they may not approve? Are y’all different religions, interracial, same sex, or any other unfair reason like that? I think maybe a conversation with your partner should be had

We are both women but 3 out of the 4 kids her mom has are gay and one is trans so I don’t think it’s that and I don’t think that her mom knows I follow a different religion. I honestly don’t know. I just hate that I’m being ostracized. And I genuinely don’t know why bc I do whatever they ask of me. Hell her mom had some left over money she owed the dentist and I just paid it bc I didn’t want her to have to worry about it but now I think I’m going out of my way to be kind to people who don’t even
