My whole family loves ai even though I’ve gotten on my soapbox so many times about how horrible it is to them and I work in a space where so many people are trying to get ai to automate their jobs for them like even yesterday my boss told me to use chat gpt for something and I was like why the hell would I do that😭 what’s crazy is that we live not even 10 minutes away from a town that is suffering a water crisis due to a meta data center being put there like why am I the only one who cares

That’s awful I’m so sorry :( my boss keeps trying to force us to use this AI bot specifically made for our company and everyone is against it. Coworkers keep “joking” about how they want it to replace us. I work in the news so maybe we’re just a little more aware of it because of that

Ive had to take some computer science courses for my major and we someone come in to lead class discussion about AI, like the whole what doe we use it for, what are our worries and what can we do about them type stuff, and I was honestly surprised to see how many guys use it for therapy and companionship or the ones that said “for everything” like wdym you spend $20 a month to talk to chat 🫩
