I know some people have strong feelings abt this but to me it’s the same idea as getting rid of a child that your partner doesn’t like. That almost never happens but I think pets should hold the same weight because they’re living, feeling beings, too.

Absolutely. I love the adorable little idiots who live with me, and it was crucial that my fiancé loved them just as much when we started dating. We both sobbed when we had to rehome one of our cats (he turned out to be special needs and we tried so hard to accommodate him) so I’m happy knowing I will never be in that situation

Just so you can set your own bar high, know that my fiancé is aggressively allergic to cats so he takes a daily allergy pill to try to curb those symptoms instead of ever suggesting getting rid of them. You should have that expectation too, don’t accept any less!

my best friend does that too she has 2 cats that she absolutely loves lol my bar is already hella high (i’ve never had a relationship with anyone lmao) and that is definitely already part of it
