my friend is very big about speaking out about rape and pedos, which i LOVEEE. but then she admitted to me that she has a kink for age play and CNC and said she knows the older men she gets with are pedos because she’s 18??? i’m confused

the kinks aren’t inherently problematic, but the way she expresses them definitely is… why tf is she putting herself into danger like that & allowing predatory men to exercise their fantasies?

She’s been cognitively groomed it’s sad. My friend said she wanted to be a porn star when we were like 14. It’s porn culture

i feel like they are problematic in every way though. because why do you speak out often that you’re against pedophelia and rape but then you fetishize them in the bedroom?? i feel like it’s insanely hypocritical.

having a kink isnt problematic? you can simply choose to not engage with it, or at the least engage in a closed room with consenting adults without putting yourself in danger.

Age play kinks ARE problematic

you ascribe to purity culture rhetoric when you see an internal trait like that as inherently immoral. how it’s expressed (or not expressed) is what actually matters. what two adults do in the bedroom shouldn’t matter to you as long as it’s safe and consensual.

but they’re normalizing pedophelia/age play. there’s a very high chance it can become misinterpreted as it being okay to be a perophile and like little girls in general. it is definitely problematic.

do you genuinely believe that an internal trait that people don’t choose is inherently immoral? do y’all not see how you’re ascribing to Christian nationalist propaganda by saying this without questioning yourselves?

pedophilia is a paraphilia where adults are sexually attracted to children. children cannot consent. this cannot be safely expressed in a bedroom, obviously. age play is a kink which can be done safely & consensually by two adults in a bedroom. please realize that conflating attraction to CHILDREN with a kink is incredibly bad-faith.

i guess i understand what you’re saying but i just still kind of find it odd. i know you can’t choose what you’re attracted to but if it’s something like that then i feel it’s just better not to act on it with random men.

except my friend isn’t safe about it. she meets up with random older men she meets off of twitter and does this stuff with them.

exactly, you get it! for those types of things, you make yourself very vulnerable, and it can be a gateway to abuse. she’s putting herself into danger by doing that with strangers, and also she’s satisfying men who are VERY likely to be predators.

yes no okay this makes sense. i really appreciate you challenging this thought of mine. i’ve been pretty conflicted by it and have even began to worry about it. obviously it’s not the kink that’s a problem but the fact that she’s not being safe DEFINITELY is.

Hey man. I’m an inherently very selfish person. That doesn’t mean I get to act selfishly because it’s an intrinsic trait. You can say “wow it turns me on to act like a child and have sex” and then think about why that’s an immoral feeling and evaluate it.

your example agrees with me: the inherent trait of selfishness wasn’t the problem, it’s what you did with it that mattered. feelings are not immoral, since morality implies choice. and thoughtcrime isnt a thing.

It just feels super weird to justify age play and noncon as someone who experienced assault as a minor. Like it’s a horrible act that shouldn’t happen and it’s very weird to romanticize or partake in. Again I’m not saying someone’s evil for having the kink but I think it’s morally dubious to partake in it.

I agree that it’d be immoral for them to flaunt it or for them to seek out people with trauma or who age regress (my friend was a victim of the latter)—and not taking the issues seriously would also be wrong. but I’ve seen people into CNC be *very* strong supporters of victims, and often are victims themselves. again, as long as it doesn’t leave the bedroom, and it’s safe & consensual, then there’s nothing wrong with it.
