i wish so bad to still be religious because i want to believe there’s a higher power but i just can’t ignore the blatant misogyny/racism in the bible or how insufferable it’s “followers” are. being an atheist is so anxiety inducing tho

lowkey you can have your own religious beliefs without following any sort of denomination or biblical teachings. it’s not cherry picking to have your own personal connection to something greater than yourself whether it be god or some other higher being

my personal belief is that the universe’s interconnectedness is holy— like we are all part of a greater sort of soul— and religions are just different ways people developed to try to talk about that oneness and how we come from it, are part of it, and one day go back to it and then maybe take a new form or consciousness

I get that. I also can’t force myself to believe and I don’t like their values, but ngl the aesthetics serve (especially traditional catholic)

i don’t like it’s cult following’s views or the bible’s but i genuinely believe jesus would be a cool ass dude. i don’t believe he’d agree with even half of the shit christians are saying/doing today. but hey yet again who even knows if any of it is real

i do like the religion/traditions and a lot of the religious concepts i grew up with personally even though there are def some flaws. i was lucky tho bc i was always encouraged to question it and think critically
