Please process it on your own first. Please. You don’t have to worry about what your boyfriend will think, the only person that matters right now to yourself should be you.

What helped me was when felt ready was that I had a female friend I was realy close with and already knew everything sit with me sit with me as a sort of anchor to help if I started getting overwhelmed. I know my partner was super supportive and had me stop whenever he saw I started to get jittery, everyone’s ready at different times wait till you feel ready.

You don’t have to tell him any more than you want to but maybe mention that you went through something horrible with the friend you’re not ready to talk about just so he’s aware to not let this guy close to you? I was lucky enough I was assaulted as a kid and have no recollection but the way my parents handled it affected me a lot and telling my bf about it was horrifying. At first though all he knew was I didn’t like sex or hugs and he didn’t ask questions he just accepted it. A good man won’t

-blame you. I’m sending you all the well wishes and hope that evil fuck spontaneously explodes. I really hope you can one day heal from this and that your boyfriend supports you when you’re ready. All the best girl

Do you think im being a bad girlfriend for not telling him yet? I love and care about him so much but im still trying to process everything and introducing another element to it feels so overwhelming especially because the person who did it to me I completely trusted and im still mourning the loss of that and im afraid I will lose my bf too

If you’re not ready, then you’re not ready. It doesn’t make you a bad girlfriend, especially in this current climate that’s so cruel toward survivors. If you do decide to tell him, you don’t need to give him all the details. You have control over the situation, you are the one who makes that decision for yourself. Make it when you feel safe, not when you feel guilty.

I don’t think so. Being sexually assaulted is a big thing to work through, especially if it was someone you were close with. Take your time with it, if he asks and you aren’t ready just tell him you have very large and mixed feelings on the topic and you’ll try and tell him when you feel ready too. A good boyfriend (and friend if you have trouble telling them too) will give you time, space and silent support if you need it.

Ik nothing about trauma responses so please take whatever i say with a grain of salt. Thats not weird, its just you and your body still processing what happened to you. Theres no timeline for healing and processing but i believe talking to a professional (if u can afford it hopefully) may help you out
