I can’t decide if I should find this attractive or weird. Maybe I should stop reading my little romance books 😭

As an English major I also agree. That woman skipped the Wattpad phase and went straight to publishing. And we are all suffering for it

Sherrilyn Kenyon sadly her work was plagiarized majorly by the author of Shadowhunters. The author of Shadowhunters also plagiarized tons of other works in her writing

Uh no I’ve never seen anyone in the reading community deem her books as dark romance. She’s just a romance author who writes weird shit and is a rape apologist.

she sure does love to use rape as a trope a little too much. i’ve noticed this in some tv shows and stuff also where they use rape gratuitously as entertainment for people’s morbid curiosity

I’ve noticed that too. It’s annoying bc sometimes that’ll be the only plot point like bro idgaf for this.

also just weird to use something so traumatic for women as a plot point….

like she’s making money off of writing fiction plots centered around rape

Number four is right there is a difference between romance and dark romance. Dark romance is a lot of like mafia, CEO, bad boy, kidnapping type romance. While her books are absolutely terrible, she is just a regular romance writer.

ok so apparently kidnapping does not count as a form of relationship abuse

I at first disagreed but actually yeah #6 is right. Some of her books are 100% mislabeled and wrongly marketed. And Colleen 100% doesn’t catch half of the fucked up shit happening and finds everything as a soap opera romance. But even still she is a “romance” author. Bc even though some of her books are mislabeled and should be instead ‘dark romance’ not all of them can be labeled as that even though they’re shit.

It’s like a fantasy writer doing, dark fantasy, fantasy adventure, and romance fantasy. They are a fantasy writer, but bc some of their books are romance fantasy they don’t just write that one kind.
