i learned some things about him after he passed that i wish i had known when he was alive so we could talk about it like i got into nascar and car racing and he literally used to be a fucking race car driver on my favorite track back when it was a dirt track

my papap randomly told me he had lunch with MLK Jr. as a young college student… but it was after he’d had his first stroke so i couldn’t ask him for too much information. i totally understand. this is why i got into genealogy this semester. i’ve been using the free one called familysearch org (idgaf that it’s church related, it’s free lol). maybe you can find newspaper clippings from his races. ❤️

he drove my dream car too. a 66 chevy impala. he was number 12. the first nascar race i ever went to number 12 won and i think that’s connected because it made me really emotional
