Chat, I’m cooked. This is one month of a medication I need without insurance agreeing to cover it. My insurance is an asshole.

Free Luigi. I hate this fucking country. Yeah it’s great in a lot of ways but fucking whatever, not really. Fear the two party system as george Washington said TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO. he’d be embarrassed to see what we’ve come to.

This post needs more attention than whatever it could possibly get. People are not aware of how much everything costs to literally keep people alive.

Looking for a Canadian doctor to prescribe this stuff now. I can fly there for it at this price.

You SHOULD. A round trip less than a couple thousand miles would be cheaper than this & even if you flew closer to the border they would probably allow a remote session and understand your circumstances. So fucking ridiculous. I’m studying medicine and have to learn about this shit and it genuinely pmo

The insurance made me try three medications in the same class before authorizing this one and none of those worked and they still won’t pay for the one that does. They covered it for years and they decided I don’t need it even though it’s not the kind of medication you suddenly don’t need.

If they were really strategic they’d make it less expensive than a lawyer’s retainer

That’s what I’m saying like. Insurance in this country will do ANYTHING but pay for people’s NEEDS. It’s fucking insane, I work for a gym & elderly retired folk get to access it for free because paying for a gym membership is cheaper than paying for hospital bills. I’m not fucking kidding you I’ve thought about this, the amount of gym memberships insurance pays for compared to out of pocket memberships cost is definitely insurmountable compared to prices of if those same people went to the-

- hospital for something minor. The folks who get free memberships talk to me about how great it is to get free memberships and I say “a gym membership is cheaper than hospital bills! Gotta stay active!” Is fucking insane. In my area they have access to 10+ gyms most likely. At that rate, insurance is paying WELL OVER than double the price an ER visit for one of them if that makes sense. Fuck insurance here, fuck the retired who have THOUSANDS/MILLIONS SAVED. fuck it all. I HATE. it here. Esp -

Going into medicine (simply nursing school) it’s brought to my attention. I go to an inner city school and rotate through more urban hospitals with higher unhoused populations. The disparity is TELLING.

I hope you are really successful in your nursing program and become a successful advocate for change

Becoming an advocate is my #1 priority in nursing truly. I see the disrespect in the system between nurses and doctors but the thing is, once I have my degree and get the chance to advocate I GET to have those fights with physicians and insurance, the rage in me fuels that truly and I will never get tired of advocating for my patients. As a student even I tell my supervisors what patients tell me/how they feel. Whatever my patients feel I will die on that hill. I genuinely hope it gets better-

For you, our healthcare system is so broken, and I fear nursing losing their flame is apart of it. Every nurse I’ve met is aspiring for a higher up position, and if they’re not, they don’t fight anymore. I am aspiring for a masters in nursing. But I will never lose my advocacy for my patients. Patients are people. We deserve more than what we’re given as HUMANS.
