STOP GETTING PETS IF YOU DONT HAVE THE FINANCIAL ABILITY TO GIVE THEM THE CARE THEY DESERVE

Don’t forget that people’s financial situations can change, though. I agree that people shouldn’t get pets when they can’t afford them! But people who can afford their pets today may fall on hardships in the future. It’s hard to argue that someone should give up their pet of 15 years because they became homeless (especially when you consider, as others have mentioned, that most shelters euthanize animals that are old, disabled, or just aren’t adopted quickly enough)

What specifically are you talking about, like basic things + some emergencies or like chronic illness pet or going above and beyond to keep your pet alive when it’s uncertain?

Before ever getting a pet you should research local vet prices too because where I’m from I could take my dog for a annual check up with vaccines for $50 and where I live now I can’t pay under $350 and emergency visits are $800 fee + cost of care

you need to be able to afford basic care, annual checkups, and have an emergency fund. and if not u need to be prepared to find a way to afford it if ur pet needs anything that's an emergency
