I want to try dating again as a college senior but after my last relationship back in HS, it’s hard to get over my fears and feeling uncomfortable when men are attracted to me due to previous experiences. How do I get over this? I’m so lonely

That relationship was just really icky to me and I felt pressured to do things I didn’t want to do (not going into detail). So since then I’ve completely rejected any opportunities I could’ve had to start something new especially with men, but it seems like men are the only people into me so… I feel like I don’t have a choice but to get over my fears I just don’t know how

Can anyone who ISNT a male give me advice? All I’m hearing is “I’m a guy and I’m confident enough to try it now”

You have to be able to trust yourself to know when to leave a relationship. You like have to hold yourself more of accountable because when you were younger you allowed more but now is different since you’re older. I come from the same place (kinda) I’m a junior in college and my last relationship was in HS. I think what I have done is my best to not let myself get too ahead nor to far behind and definitely know what is right and wrong.. because a relationship should never be icky

Like when you think about talking to someone, just yolo it but don’t cross your boundaries. Remember there’s gonna be guys who completely understand where you’re coming from and if they don’t then, they just don’t want to hangout with a baddie. Keep your peace love

I think part of my problem is that I have really low self esteem so I feel like I have to compensate for not being a hottie/baddie/thin etc. I’m friendly but kind of awkward, so in my mind I have to do things I don’t want to do to make up for not being conventionally attractive

No need to compensate, everyone has their different preferences. You will be attractive to some guys but not others
