okay so i def recommend checking out local plant nurseries for native plants, im not super familiar with plants from southern states. however i found some links that might be helpful! they talk about plant cover, aquatic (and how to anchor), pollinators, and grasses. i’m sorry i couldn’t be more helpful but hopefully the links can help

also you could add either solar panels fountain floats (just to keep the water flowing, it’ll attract birds) or mosquito dunks (they’re not toxic to wildlife) to help cut back on mosquitoes
