trying to explain to my mom that she can’t pick and choose what people to support in the LGBT community because she’s fine with celebrities/other people being gay / trans etc etc but cannot bare the thought of someone close to our family being LGBT

like my friend came out as nonbinary so they use they/them and a new name. my mom threw a fucking fit and was like “(deadname) is supposed to be smarter than this” and then went on and on about it and it was so fucking disgusting and evil. i tried to correct her but she didn’t care
