
If many people in the world have missing limbs are we going to say people with missing limbs don’t exist because we don’t like them? That would be a more accurate analogy. It’s not about what humans are “supposed” to be. It’s about what humans are ACTUALLY born into this world as. Someone isn’t suddenly not a human because they don’t have 4 limbs.
When you learn about anatomy, you learn certain things about how bodies are supposed to work. But humanity is not determined by your conformity to a non-disabled mold. People who are different are still worth being acknowledged, even if they’re the minority. If doctor’s didn’t learn about the minorities of people born different, our healthcare system would fail people every day. By the end of your life, YOU will likely be disabled. But your difference does not erase your humanity.
