I have 10 siblings and my mom would always complain about people judging her and now I’m like they sorta have a point 🥲

One of the kids I went to high school with is the oldest of 18 kids. He was my age and the newest was a newborn when we graduated. I think about him often, wondering how he’s doing because he was often used as free childcare.

Same but how do parents actually afford that many children

my great grandmother had 24 kids, twins, triplets etc, but in central america at the time it was super dangerous so only 6 out of 24 survived 🧍🏻‍♀️

I think once those numbers get past three you immediately start spread yourself thin. I was parentified with my younger brother (eldest daughter 🫩) and my parents struggled to make things equal between three children. One in elementary and the others in Hs/college. And let me tell you it has caused so many issues in my house.

Yeah, poor guy was missing so much school just to take his siblings to appointments or practices. He was also on scholarship to be able to participate in our high school band because his family couldn’t afford the fees. I feel so bad for him and hope he’s doing well

You absolutely cannot give 10 kids the proper care a child needs

I also bet his parents didn’t show up for much of those events. A lot of times parents will show much more attention to the youngest because “awww this is the last time we’ll be able to watch a kindergarten recital” which yes it’s important to the littles but is shows that there’s no fair option to either child

Yeah, they never showed up. Not when he made Drumline captain, not when we placed 10th in world championships, nothing. My parents made him a senior spotlight poster to hang up in the band hall because his parents didn’t.

I totally agree, most of us have attachment issues and anxiety. I love my siblings, but it’s not fair.
