I hate seeing white women say “who set that system up” cause like, maybe not y’all’s foremothers, but they were the ones sewing white hoods for the people that did in fact set that system up.

A while ago, I watched a video on that touches on this subject. It’s called “Tradwives and the White Supremacists Who Love Them.” It’s a pretty good video.

honestly in general the “who set that system up” is so flawed bc those people are all dead. the guy telling you about whatever problem he has is not personally responsible for the formation of patriarchy and the sooner we accept that we are allowed to become better people and act with kindness regardless of what people who died many years ago did even if they looked like you

edit not REGARDLESS of what has happened but my point is we shouldn’t let that rule decisions. like if someone says “man I have this problem” and our first instinct is to say well that sucks bc people like you hundreds of years ago fucked you, that’s just being a shitty person. we can acknowledge and work forward from the sins of the past and to actively hinder that is petty and useless
