Maybe do coloring or art activities like “who is ur hero” or draw your favorite season “ or interactive activities put ppl in a group have everyone paint on mini pumpkins or decorate them

also don’t get into a power struggle with students, if they start disrespecting you then you give them the option to head down to the front office or stop the behavior. arguing with them is an instant loss, don’t engage with it

especially at higher levels, they’ll try to convince u that their teacher lets them do xyz. 80% of the time they’re lying, so be careful with what you let them do. also keep in mind the phone policy at school, many schools don’t let them have phones at all or only during passing time

and always make sure you keep the paper handy that gives you office contact info. if the students are becoming Too Fucking Much (like they often do for me in middle school grades) you can call the office and ask for some help. they’ll send someone down to yell at the kids and give them a talk about how Your Teacher Would Be So Disappointed In You. don’t be afraid to call for help!

and if you’re looking to get a job at any of these schools, make sure you take the time to be kind and say hi to people and make conversation

as for dress code, i usually wear black jeans, a black shirt, and an open button-down shirt on top. Nothing super formal or super casual. As long as it’s put-together and not showing any bits, you should be fine. You’ll get a better feel for it as you keep working. Good luck!!!!!
