my library’s YA new arrival section is just different versions of the same booktok romantasy bs and it’s exhausting. honestly even in the adult section a lot of our new arrivals lately are just the same old same old. the juvenile fiction section honestly seems to have the most interesting plots these days which is crazy. my director tries her best to order interesting books but idk i think publishers just wanna go with what’s popular and it’s boring as hell
