I have an H cup and it can get painful so I’ve been considering this- what was the process like for getting insurance to cover it? Or was it a medical emergency type thing?

I’m an H cup and I have constant back pain even when I stretch i genuinely cannot escape it. I just wanna fit into cute clothes and not be sexualized in literally everything I put on too. I saw you said your posture improved as well as pain. What cup size did you reduce to? Do you fit into tops better?

The healing process is usually abt up to 6 weeks! For me, I didn’t experience high pain levels after (im already off meds week 2) but it definitely can vary depending on person! I would say that while it is a long-ish recovery process, it’s definitely worth it! I’m already experiencing benefits

So, I went to a doctor to talk about the pain I was in, and he referred me to the surgeon. After the consultation w the surgeon, (they got measurements nd asked abt different pains and other things) then they sent a thing to my insurance to see if it could be deemed ‘medically necessary’ and get some coverage. Then it takes a little time for insurance to review (i think it was 2 weeks max)! That was the process I took. I would absolutely talk to your primary care dr abt ur pain and go from there

haha! the amount of comments I’ve heard from people like ‘why would you wanna get rid of them???’ ‘some people WISH they had your problem’ or ‘you’re gonna miss them’. I’ve known I wanted this procedure done since i was 11 I HAVE NO REGRETS??

So, when I had previously been sized they told me 38DD, however I was constantly falling out of my bras and so my assumption is that I was bigger than that. Especially bc i got resized today and im only down to a 36D even tho they took off the equivalent of a tub of butter from each 😭😭 I’m still rlly young though, so we decided to start looking at it when I was freshly 17? and I was still experiencing growth pains

like, we talked to my dr abt it the first time around freshly 17, and then eventually scheduled the surgery to be recent.

Thank you this is great to know I’m 19 and the back pain sucks. I feel like I’d be told to wait till I have kids but that’s so far away.

Honestly, my doctor suggested it to me and i was SHOCKED bc i didn’t even think it would be possible. i’d been thinking abt this surgery since 11 but never thought i’d get the chance. It’s always worth it to speak w ur primary dr and see what they suggest and who they can refer you to. I do know different areas have different rules like my friend has to wait until theyre 21 in their state
