bc, unfortunately, casting her as a skinny woman makes it a lot easier for most people to empathize with her

I think even if they did cast her as fat it’d be someone who still is very stereotypically attractive. I love the actress for My Mad Fat Diary (she’s absolutely gorgeous) but not what people would consider the beauty standard and it worked so well for the show. viewers also had no issue empathizing with her.

We don’t always need to empathize with a character tho. The ability to sympathize is even more important imo. To be able to understand a character that you DONT relate to
