All of these videos of “recession indicators” break my heart and make me want to work even harder to be a financial advisor. I want to provide people my age with the peace of mind of funds for future and wealth growth even if today is hard

Girl I don’t often provide career advice but… that one overlaps with something I was doing between my undergrad and grad school. That is not an industry you want to be in for the coming decade. The amount of SP500 companies committing fraud on their quarterly earnings reports is high enough they likely made it classified govt information when the software/transaction mapping hit 100%.

Fortunately, I wasn’t there if they did make it some kind of classification, but if I was, I could see why they would do that because if people knew how much fraud the accounting/finance departments of some of these companies did, it would create such a unstable whipsaw of prices it might cause the collapse of third world economies who rely heavily on one commodity or supply chain for stability.

I’m planning on working as an independent financial advisor instead of with a company. My dad is currently independent, he’s obviously sponsored by a company but has the freedom to do what he feels right, make his own hours and have meetings at clients homes. I don’t think I would enjoy working for a firm where they have complete control over me and my clients

Wise. If you get a chance to do some digging eyes on some of the potential investments you’re thinking about, if I was in your shoes, I would take that opportunity. You would be surprised what employees of some of these companies are willing to tell/show you if you’re just kind/courteous to them.
