like do i think every single women who shaves or wants to be a sahm does it bc of the patriarchy and how women have been conditioned to value beauty and motherhood above everything else? ofc not. do i think if the patriarchy didn’t exist a LOT of women would no longer do that? well yes!

yes! but most of the time when it’s brought up it’s immediately shut down with the argument that bc a woman is ‘choosing’ to do it, it’s fine and it doesn’t have to be examined

Valid, but I’d say this is more of an issue of choice feminism going too far than with an inability to discuss the issues.

well yeah they’re one and the same. choice feminism dominates discussions like this and prevents them from getting to the root of the issue
