This is gonna sound awful so hear me out. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with aborting when you know with complete certainty that the baby would be severely disabled. Most parents die before their kids do, if their child is in that category of being severely disabled, other arrangements will likely need to be made for their care, either by carefully selecting a caregiver/facility (which who can say if those plans will fall through or not) or… (1/2)

I’m all for consequences of your actions if they only affect you. But birthing a whole child as a “consequence” is now affecting multiple people, that child could grow up with a mom/family that resents them for being born or go into foster care and deal with the trauma that causes. Even if the child was given away and adopted they can still deal with the issues of feeling abandoned or like they don’t belong. Making a woman birth a whole ass kid as a punishment is stupid and unfair to all🤷🏼‍♀️😬

Who exactly is having an abortion 5 minutes before birth? At that point medical personnel will allow for an abortion bc the fetus can survive outside the womb. Just like how women get abortions in the first trimesters when the fetus cannot survive outside the womb. Those who get a second trimester abortion are getting it due to medical issues or before the 24 week mark, and third trimester abortions is also done for medical reasons due to mother being in danger.

You’re right that protection does not always work and pregnancy is a huge deal. If you are not prepared to be pregnant you should not be having sex. Deciding that someone does not get the right to live because you can’t keep your pants on is evil.
