My friend is killing himself in corporate law and I literally do not understand - like once he pays off his loans and can reclaim his life he’s going to have to build his social life and hobbies from scratch bc he doesn’t have any

I get paying off loans is important and stressful but they pay him the same amount no matter how many hours he puts in and he wants to transition to being a lawyer for good in the future so if you don’t want to make partner why put in 110% effort like that

Not to sound mean but I’m tired of listening to him complain about it because he doesn’t listen to any of my advice and can’t really justify it, I think it’s more of a pride/people pleasing thing than anything but at what expense? And he won’t go to therapy
